**Zinzino HbA1c Test**

The test consists of two parts. First, you perform a simple home test that analyzes your long-term blood sugar level (HbA1c) in capillary blood using the Dried Blood Drop (DBS) technique. This method has been scientifically proven to be as accurate as a venous blood sample. Just a few drops of blood on a Whatman® filter paper are enough, and the test is completed in less than a minute.

Your blood is then examined by VITAS Analytical Services in Norway, a leading laboratory in the field. The results appear after about 10-20 days on the website zinzinotest.com and can be accessed through your personal, anonymous test ID. This measurement provides crucial insights into your ability to regulate your blood sugar so that you can make informed choices to positively impact your health.

The second part of the test is a comprehensive lifestyle assessment. Upon logging in with your test ID, you complete a detailed questionnaire that identifies your current habits and their impact on your future health. Context is essential for meaningful insights, which is why Zinzino combines your test results with this lifestyle assessment. Based on this, you will receive a score indicating how well your current lifestyle supports your health. This allows you to actively monitor and improve your well-being, setting you on the path to a healthier and balanced future.

**What we measure**

In our Hemoglobin A1c test, your long-term blood sugar level is analyzed by the amount of A1c hemoglobin proteins to which glucose is bound. The higher your average blood glucose level, the greater the amount of glucose attached.

Results are expressed in mmol/mol (millimoles per mole), the standard unit for blood glucose measurements since 2009. Based on your test result, your blood sugar level is assigned to one of four categories, giving you a clear picture of your current health status.
Normal range < 34 mmol/mol
Close monitoring range 34 - < 38 mmol/mol
Pre-diabetic range 38 - < 47 mmol/mol
Diabetic range > 47 mmol/mol

**Important note!**

A validated risk assessment for the development of type 2 diabetes is displayed within a normal HbA1c range or the "accurate tracking" range. However, when values are in the pre-diabetic range or higher, this risk assessment is not displayed. In this case, immediate action to improve health is advised.
